Compatibility
Compatibility of Beta Systems products with z/OS
All product releases of Beta 48, Beta 77, Beta 85, Beta 88, Beta 89, Beta 91, Beta 92, Beta 93, Beta 93 - Fast Retrieval, and Beta 93 - Document Transformer that are still in maintenance will run under the z/OS releases currently maintained by IBM
Usually within a three-month period following the release of a new version of z/OS, Beta Systems performs tests to verify the executability of the above-mentioned Beta Systems products with the new version of the operating system. You will find the known recommendations on this page:
Please check our ftp server regularly: ftp://ftp.betasystems.com/pub
Here you will find the recommended PTFs and patches released for your product level.
|
Note on z/OS 1.10 support |
|
Beta Systems products based on BSA Version 4 run under z/OS 1.10, provided that the Beta Systems z/OS 1.10 Support PTFs have been installed. |
|
Note on z/OS 1.11 support |
|
Please note that as a minimum the PTF levels required for z/OS 1.10 must be installed. |
If you are using IBM's fee-based "IBM Lifecycle Extension" support for your z/OS 1.7 or z/OS 1.8 operating system: please contact Tech-Info@betasystems.com.
Please refer to this page for a list of the Beta Systems products currently in maintenance.

Compatibility of Beta Systems products with one another |
|
When deploying classic BSA-based Beta Systems products (Beta 91, Beta 92, Beta 93 etc.), please take into account that all systems that are to communicate with one another must run on the basis of the same BSA version. However, it is not possible to use the version number of the product concerned as the criterion for determining whether a product runs with BSA V3 or BSA V4. |
Note:
Beta 93 - Fast Retrieval V4R1 runs as of BSA V4R2.
